This flex sensor is a simple resistive bend sensor for turning physical movement into an analogue signal. Bend the strip and its resistance increases, giving you an easy way to sense flex without gears, linkages or other moving parts.
Use it as one half of a voltage divider with a fixed resistor of roughly 10kΩ, then read the midpoint with a microcontroller analogue input. You can swap the fixed resistor value to tune sensitivity for the bend range you care about.
The connector uses 0.1 inch spacing, so it can plug straight into a breadboard for quick prototyping. It is useful for wearables, simple position sensing, hinge or lid detection, and classroom experiments where students can measure and plot resistance changes.

For best life, clamp or mount the base firmly and only flex the sensing length. Avoid bending it at the pins or creasing it sharply, as that can permanently damage the conductive layer.
