Building on the success of the CrowPanel Basic series, we proudly introduce the CrowPanel Advance Series—designed to deliver superior performance and richer features for demanding applications.
The Advance ESP32 2.8-inch AI display is an upgraded version of the CrowPanel HMI 2.8-inch display. It is a powerful HMI touch display feature with a 320*240 resolution IPS screen. It uses the ESP32-S3 chip as the core processor, equipped with an Xtensa 32-bit LX7 dual-core processor and a main frequency of up to 240MHz. It has 512KB SRAM, 8M PSRAM, and 16M Flash. This gives it strong data processing power.
The 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and BLE functions, with a built-in RF antenna, ensure a stable, reliable wireless connection. Also, the diverse interfaces and low power make this 2.8” screen ideal for HMI applications that need strong wireless connectivity. It supports the Arduino IDE, Espressif IDF, and PlatformIO. It is compatible with the LVGL graphics library and supports C++.
This 2.8” screen uses an IPS panel, and the 178°wide viewing angle allows you to enjoy a vivid visual experience at any angle. Capacitive touch technology enables smooth, responsive interactions. It makes every touch accurate and intuitive.
A notable feature of the CrowPanel Advance 2.8-inch display is its integrated AI function. Users can interact by using the microphone and speaker. This includes voice recognition and speech synthesis. They can have seamless conversations with smart assistants to get information.
Another highlight of this screen is that its modular design provides diversified wireless communication options. Users can replace modules as needed. They support multiple protocols: Zigbee, LoRa, nRF2401, Matter, Thread, Wi-Fi HaLow, and Wi-Fi 6. In addition, when paired with the SX1262 wireless module, it can support access to the Meshtastic network(An open source, off-grid, decentralized, mesh network built to run on affordable, low-power devices). One screen and different modules can meet the wireless connection needs of different scenarios
This upgrade integrates the latest wireless tech, an optimized port layout, a great touch display, and larger storage. These improvements make connectivity more flexible and reliable. They provide users with a wider range of options and applications, capable of meeting the rigorous demands of modern intelligent remote monitoring and control systems, while also presenting new opportunities for Industry 4.0.  This 2.8" display also supports tactility. Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

BLE
BLE stands for Bluetooth Low Energy, a Bluetooth mode designed for low power use and broad compatibility with modern phones and computers. It connects well to battery-powered and mobile devices, including Apple hardware, though it behaves differently from Bluetooth Classic and its serial-style profiles.
ESP32
ESP32 is a family of low-cost microcontroller chips and modules from Espressif with built-in WiFi and Bluetooth. They support programmable firmware and over-the-air updates, and are commonly programmed with toolchains such as the Arduino core and ESP-IDF.
HMI
HMI stands for Human-Machine Interface, meaning the screen, buttons or controls a person uses to interact with a device. Describing something as suited to HMI use suggests it is intended for user-facing applications such as control panels, dashboards or instrument displays.
IDE
Short for Integrated Development Environment, a program used to write, run and manage code. It matters because some learners prefer a traditional coding workspace instead of a guided notebook-style lesson.
IPS
IPS is a type of LCD panel that keeps colours and contrast more consistent when viewed from an angle. This matters for small displays that may be mounted in a dashboard, handheld project, or enclosure where the viewer is not always looking straight on.
LoRa
LoRa is a long-range, low-power wireless radio technology often used for telemetry, remote sensors and other links that send small amounts of data over long distances. It is distinct from Bluetooth and WiFi, so sharing a connector or pinout with LoRa hardware does not mean a device actually uses LoRa.
LVGL
LVGL is an open-source graphics library for building buttons, menus, gauges and other user interfaces on small embedded displays. Support for LVGL matters if you want to create a polished touchscreen interface without drawing every screen element from scratch.
Matter
A smart home connectivity standard designed to let devices work across different ecosystems. It matters if you want a project to integrate more easily with platforms such as Apple Home, Google Home, or other Matter-compatible systems.
RF
RF means radio frequency, referring to signals used for wireless communication and other high-frequency electronics. A low-noise, stable power supply is important for RF circuits because power noise can affect signal quality and measurements.
SRAM
Fast temporary memory used by a processor while a program is running. More SRAM helps with projects that handle larger data buffers, networking, displays, or more complex code.
Thread
A low-power wireless mesh networking standard designed for smart home and IoT devices. It matters because Thread devices can relay messages through each other, helping build reliable networks for sensors and controllers.
Wi-Fi 6
A newer Wi-Fi standard that can improve speed, range, and efficiency compared with older Wi-Fi versions. It matters for projects that need reliable wireless networking, especially where many devices share the same network.
Zigbee
A low-power wireless standard commonly used by smart home sensors, switches, and lights. It matters if you want the board to communicate with Zigbee devices or act as part of a home automation network.
