Black Gladiator-Tracked Chassis
If you want a tracked chassis on a budget, the Black Gladiator is a good place to start. You get a metal chassis, two motors, tracks and all the fittings necessary to assemble this little guy. There's enough room on top for an Arduino or Raspberry Pi, but you will need a suitable motor driver and a pair of 16650 batteries and you're good to go. The design is simple, and it looks like it will cope with most hard surfaces as well as lawn and some sand. Be careful of sand and water because the motors are not sealed and won't take too much environmental abuse. My only complaint is that one motor fouls the large holes at the front of the chassis, which is unfortunate but not the end of the world. Everything is well made, and for the price it's pretty hard to beat.
