The Adafruit STEMMA Speaker combines a Class D audio amplifier with a 1W 8 Ω speaker in one slim, portable package. Connect ground, 3–5V power, and an audio signal via the JST-PH STEMMA connector or the alligator/sew-pads — no AC coupling needed, the board handles that for you.
Sound quality is suitable for music, tones, and speech. A small trim pot lets you adjust volume with a screwdriver. The audio input accepts signals up to the supply voltage (3V or 5V peak-to-peak).

Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- pH
- A measure of how acidic or alkaline a liquid is, on a scale where 7 is neutral. For a water monitoring kit, pH tells you about water chemistry and whether the included probe matches the range and accuracy your project needs.
- STEMMA
- A plug-and-cable connection system used on some maker electronics boards to make wiring simpler. If a product uses STEMMA, you need the matching cable or connector type to plug it in without soldering.
