Adafruit Precision NXP 9-DOF Breakout Board [FXOS8700 + FXAS21002]
Discontinued
The Adafruit Precision NXP 9-DOF Breakout combines the FXOS8700 3-axis accelerometer/magnetometer and the FXAS21002 3-axis gyroscope on a single board. This pairing delivers exceptional gyroscope stability — the FXAS21002 exhibits the lowest zero-rate drift of any gyroscope Adafruit has tested, making it particularly well suited for AHRS-based orientation calculations.
The FXAS21002's zero-rate level is 10–20× lower than competing sensors like the LSM9DS0, LSM9DS1, L3GD20H, MPU-9250, and even the BNO055. This means less drift compensation is needed, resulting in more accurate and stable orientation data straight out of the box. Sensor fusion calculations run on your microcontroller (approximately 15 KB of Flash), providing BNO055-comparable orientation performance at a lower cost.
