A 70-pin Hirose receptacle header (DF40HC(3.0)-70DS) designed for the Intel Edison Compute Module. This fine-pitch connector allows breakout boards to be added to the Edison, making it easier to design custom expansion boards and prototypes.
Once installed, the connector adds 3mm of height to the Edison board socket — enough to clear the metal can and potentially tuck thin components or chips underneath the Edison for a more compact PCB layout.
