This surface-mount 7-segment display is a compact red LED digit for custom PCBs where you want to avoid through-hole parts and keep the board profile low.

With a 0.3" (7.62mm) digit height, it remains easy to read while the overall package height is just 0.394" (10mm). The single-character display is suited to instrumentation indicators, numeric readouts and other space-conscious panel or board designs.

This unit uses a common anode configuration, making it compatible with a wide range of LED drivers and shift registers for multiplexed or controlled display applications.

Specifications:

  • Number of Characters: 1
  • Dimensions: 0.394" H x 0.287" W x 0.154" D (10.00mm x 7.30mm x 3.90mm)
  • Digit Size: 0.30" (7.62mm)
  • Display Type: 7-Segment
  • Common Pin: Common Anode
  • Color: Red
  • Voltage - Forward (Vf) (Typ): 1.95V
  • Current -Test: 20mA
  • Millicandela Rating: 4.5mcd
  • Wavelength - Peak: 640nm

A handy choice for low-profile numeric displays in instruments, counters, indicators and embedded projects using LED driver ICs or shift registers.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

LED
A light-emitting diode is a small electronic component that lights up when current flows through it in the correct direction. In this kit, LEDs create the flashing effect, so polarity and correct soldering matter for the project to work.
LED driver
An LED driver is a control chip or circuit that supplies and switches power to LEDs. For a display board, it reduces the number of microcontroller pins needed and handles tasks like lighting the right segments and adjusting brightness.
Power dissipation
Power dissipation is electrical energy being turned into heat inside a component. It matters because too much heat can reduce efficiency, affect reliability, or require a larger component or better cooling.
