A simple adapter that converts a standard 2.1 mm DC barrel jack into a USB-C plug, letting you power USB-C devices from common 5 V barrel-jack wall adapters. Plug it onto the end of your existing power supply and connect straight to a Raspberry Pi 4 or any USB-C device that runs on 5 V without USB Power Delivery negotiation.

Key Features

  • 2.1 mm Barrel Jack Socket – Accepts standard centre-positive 5 V DC plugs
  • USB-C Plug Output – Reversible connector, no orientation to worry about
  • Compact & Passive – No active electronics; straight-through power connection
Warning: This adapter has no protection circuit and does not perform USB Power Delivery negotiation. Use only with a 5 V centre-positive barrel jack supply. Incorrect polarity or voltage may damage your connected device.

Ideal For

  • Powering a Raspberry Pi 4 from an existing 5 V barrel-jack supply
  • Repurposing 2.1 mm wall adapters for USB-C devices
  • Bench setups where barrel-jack supplies are already in use

Package Contents

  • 1× 2.1 mm Barrel Jack to USB-C Adapter

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

DC barrel jack
A round power connector commonly used for low-voltage DC power supplies, often described by its outer and inner diameters such as 5.5 x 2.1 mm. Matching the barrel size and polarity is important so the plug physically fits and powers the device correctly.
USB Power Delivery
USB Power Delivery is a standard that lets devices negotiate higher power levels over a USB-C connection. For this carrier board, PD 60W support matters because the Jetson module and connected peripherals may need more power than basic USB can provide.
USB-C
A modern reversible USB connector used for power and data connections. On this product it matters because it can connect directly to a computer as well as to a microcontroller project.
