Jargon buster
Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.
- 5G
- A mobile network standard used for high-speed wireless data links. If a project uses a 5G gateway, its power system must be able to supply enough current reliably for outdoor or remote operation.
- Gravity
- Gravity is DFRobot’s plug-in connector system for sensors, motors and modules, using standard cables to reduce loose jumper wiring. It matters because Gravity-compatible parts can connect directly to these ports, while non-Gravity parts may need adapters or manual wiring.
- thermal grease
- A paste placed between a chip and a heatsink to fill tiny air gaps and improve heat transfer. Using it correctly helps the heatsink pull heat away more effectively and can improve stability under load.
