SparkFun 7-Segment Serial Display - Kelly Green

Discontinued

The SparkFun 7-Segment Serial Display combines a 4-digit 7-segment display with an ATmega328 microcontroller, letting you control every segment using just a few serial lines. Choose from three communication interfaces: serial TTL, SPI, or I²C — and even program the on-board ATmega328 directly via the Arduino IDE using the included bootloader and FTDI header.

Power and I²C pins are positioned on the sides of the board so multiple displays can be chained together for longer digit strings. Mounting holes allow secure installation on standoffs.

Key Features

  • 4-Digit Green Display – Alpha-numeric characters, numbers, and special symbols
  • Three Interfaces – Serial TTL, SPI, or I²C communication

  • Adjustable Brightness – Software-selectable, saved to non-volatile memory
  • Selectable Baud Rate – Retained in non-volatile memory
  • Chainable – Side-mounted power and I²C pins for multi-display setups
  • Arduino Programmable – ATmega328 with Arduino bootloader and FTDI header
  • Mounting Holes – For secure standoff installation
