Serial Enabled 16x2 LCD - Red on Black 5V

A 16 × 2 character LCD with red text on a black background and an embedded serial interface. An on-board PIC 16F88 microcontroller accepts TTL serial input and handles all display driving, so only a single data line is needed to print text, clear the screen, adjust backlight brightness, and toggle the display on or off.

Communication uses 5 V TTL serial at a default 9600 bps (8-N-1), adjustable from 2400 to 38,400 bps. Power, ground, and RX are broken out to both a 2.54 mm pitch header and a 3-pin JST connector. A rear potentiometer adjusts display contrast, and PWM backlight control allows brightness and power consumption tuning.
