OpenMV H7 Camera

Discontinued

The OpenMV H7 is a compact, low-power machine vision camera that you program in MicroPython instead of C/C++. High-level Python scripting makes it easier to work with complex vision algorithm outputs and data structures while still providing full control over I/O pins, triggers, and image capture.

The included OV7725 sensor captures 640×480 grayscale (8-bit) or RGB565 (16-bit) images at up to 60 FPS above 320×240 resolution, and 120 FPS below. The H7 features removable camera modules, allowing you to swap in Global Shutter or FLIR Lepton sensors for advanced computer vision applications.

Key Features

  • Processor – STM32H7 ARM Cortex-M7
  • Image Sensor – OV7725 (removable module)
  • Resolution – Up to 640×480 (grayscale or RGB565)
  • Frame Rate – 60 FPS at 320×240+, 120 FPS below 320×240
  • Programming – MicroPython (via OpenMV IDE)
  • Camera Modules – Removable, supports Global Shutter and FLIR Lepton
  • I/O – Full GPIO control from Python

Supported Vision Algorithms

  • Frame differencing and motion detection
  • Face detection and eye tracking
  • Marker and shape detection
  • QR code detection and decoding
  • Colour tracking and blob detection
