NeTV Starter Pack
The NeTV Starter Pack is a complete kit for the open-source HDTV peripheral from Sutajio Ko-Usagi, designed by "bunnie" Huang. NeTV overlays web content onto any existing HDMI video feed — from a Blu-ray player, cable box, or game console — using FPGA-based chroma-key compositing and Angstrom Linux running WebKit.
Out of the box, the reference firmware displays Facebook and Twitter feeds and SMS messages from Android phones directly on your TV. The UI is written in JavaScript/HTML, and a built-in HTTP API with Bonjour/zeroconf discovery makes it straightforward to integrate with smartphones, laptops, and other networked devices.
Key Features
- HDMI Video Overlay – Composite web content onto any HDMI source using FPGA chroma-keying
