This motion-triggered audio player is designed to automatically play MP3 alerts when movement is detected by a separate PIR sensor. Because the PIR sensor is separate from the player, you can position the sensor where it needs to detect motion while mounting the audio player somewhere convenient.

The unit includes a built-in MP3 player with internal flash memory, plus support for USB flash drives and microSD cards for larger audio libraries. Audio files can be uploaded through the micro USB port using a USB data cable connected to a computer, and the onboard potentiometer makes volume adjustment straightforward.

For output, it includes a class D amplifier for driving a speaker, as well as a 3.5mm audio output jack for use with external amplifiers or active speakers. It can also activate external equipment such as warning lights or motors while audio is playing.

The device has seven trigger input terminals labelled K1 through K7, but only K1 and K2 are used for connecting external PIR sensors. K3 to K7 and the 485+ and 485- terminals are intended for other purposes and should not be altered or used. Do not delete the internal flash memory file named "Config.txt" when updating audio files. Power adapter NOT included; a 12V 2A power adapter is suggested.

Features:

  • Flexible Motion Sensing: Features a separate PIR motion sensor, allowing for flexible and convenient placement separate from the audio player.
  • Customisable Options: Available in two models: one with a single PIR sensor and another with dual PIR sensors, giving users options tailored to their specific needs.
  • Independent Sound Triggering: In models with dual PIR sensors, each sensor can independently activate its associated sound file, allowing for simultaneous playback without interruption.
  • High-Quality Audio Playback: Equipped with a high-quality built-in MP3 player and 8MB of flash memory, ensuring reliable and immersive audio playback.
  • Extended Storage Options: Supports USB flash drives and microSD cards as additional storage options, with a capacity of up to 32GB each.
  • Powerful Amplification: Comes with a class D 10-watt amplifier for loud and clear audio output.
  • User-Friendly Operations: Allows easy uploading of audio files via a micro USB port connected to a computer using a USB data cable.
  • Adjustable Volume: Features an integrated potentiometer for easy volume adjustment.
  • Versatile Connectivity: Capable of driving external equipment, such as warning lights or motors, while simultaneously playing audio.
  • Audio Output Flexibility: Includes a 3.5mm audio output jack for connections to external amplifiers or active speakers.
  • Durable Construction: Encased in a robust aluminum alloy case to ensure durability and longevity.
  • Industrial-Grade Design: Boasts an industrial-grade build that provides strong anti-jamming capabilities.
  • Trigger Inputs: This device has seven trigger input terminals labeled K1 through K7.
  • PIR Sensor Inputs: Only the first two terminals (K1 and K2) are used to connect external PIR sensors.
  • Reserved Terminals: The remaining terminals (K3 to K7), as well as the 485+ and 485- terminals, are designed for other purposes and should not be altered or used.
  • External LED Output: When a sound is playing, you can simultaneously activate an external LED light.
  • Load Output: The output voltage at the "Load+" and "Load-" terminals for the LED light matches the device's power supply voltage.
  • Load Output Example: If the device is powered with 12V, the LED light must also support a working voltage of 12V.

A practical option for motion-triggered announcements, safety alerts, display audio, exhibits and other installations where a PIR sensor should start playback automatically.

Jargon buster

Plain-language definitions for the technical terms used above.

DC
DC means direct current, where electricity flows in one constant direction, as supplied by batteries, USB ports and many plug-pack power supplies. When a product specifies DC, it runs from a DC supply rather than mains AC, so you need to provide the correct voltage and polarity.
Flash memory
Flash memory is non-volatile memory that retains stored data even when power is removed, and can be erased and rewritten in blocks. It lets data such as firmware, settings or saved records persist across power cycles.
LED
A light-emitting diode (LED) is a small electronic component that emits light when current flows through it in the correct direction. Because it only conducts one way, its polarity matters, and a through-hole LED must be soldered the correct way around to light up.
PIR sensor
A passive infrared sensor detects changes in heat, usually from a person moving across its view. It matters because PIR sensors are common for lights and alarms, but they can miss people who are present but not moving much.
potentiometer
A variable resistor usually turned with a knob or shaft to create an adjustable electrical signal. It is often used for inputs such as volume, brightness or position, so it helps beginners learn how a microcontroller reads changing values.
