Freematics OBD-II Emulator - with J1850 PWM
Discontinued
The Freematics OBD-II Emulator MK2 is a compact desk-top tool that simulates a vehicle's 16-pin OBD-II diagnostic port. It responds to standard OBD-II PID requests, emulates up to six active diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), and supports VIN queries — letting you develop and test OBD-II software and hardware without needing a real car.
Controlled via a PC GUI over USB or wirelessly from an iOS device via built-in BLE, the emulator supports CAN, KWP2000, ISO9141-2, and J1850 PWM protocols. A serial TTL connector allows integration with Arduino or other microcontrollers for extended data sourcing.
Key Features
- Standard 16-Pin OBD-II Port – Identical to a real vehicle connector; provides power and data to plugged-in devices
- Multi-Protocol Support – CAN (500/250 Kbps, 11/29-bit), KWP2000 (Fast & 5 Kbps), ISO9141-2, J1850 PWM
- Full PID Emulation – Responds to all OBD-II PID polls with adjustable values
- DTC & VIN Emulation – Set up to 6 diagnostic trouble codes and customise the vehicle identification number
- USB & BLE Control – PC GUI via USB; wireless control from iPad/iPhone via the Freematics Emulator app
- Serial TTL Interface – 6-pin XH-2.54 socket (Tx/Rx/GND/3.3 V/5 V/12 V) for Arduino integration
- Firmware Upgradable – Keep the emulator up to date via USB
