Adafruit LSM6DS33 6-DoF Accel + Gyro IMU

Discontinued

The Adafruit LSM6DS33 is an affordable 6 Degree of Freedom (6-DoF) inertial measurement unit combining a triple-axis accelerometer and triple-axis gyroscope. The accelerometer measures gravity and linear acceleration, while the gyroscope detects spin and rotation — together providing comprehensive motion and orientation data.

This compact STEMMA QT breakout includes voltage regulation and level shifting for use with both 3.3 V and 5 V systems. Connect via solderless STEMMA QT/Qwiic cables over I2C, or use the SPI interface and standard header pins. A solder jumper on the back lets you change the I2C address to run two sensors on the same bus.

Key Features

  • Triple-Axis Accelerometer – Measures gravity and linear acceleration in 3D space
  • Triple-Axis Gyroscope – Detects spin, rotation, and angular velocity
  • Dual Interface – I2C (with STEMMA QT/Qwiic connectors) and SPI
  • Configurable I2C Address – Solder jumper for running two sensors on one bus
  • 3.3 V and 5 V Compatible – Onboard voltage regulator and level shifting
  • Arduino Libraries – Adafruit LSM6DS driver plus ST's advanced library with FIFO and tap detection
  • Four Mounting Holes – For secure attachment to your project

Ideal For

  • Motion sensing and gesture detection
  • Robotics orientation and stabilisation
  • Wearable activity tracking
  • DIY drone and vehicle attitude sensing

Package Contents

  • 1× Adafruit LSM6DS33 6-DoF IMU Breakout (STEMMA QT, assembled and tested)
  • 1× Strip of header pins
Note: This breakout does not include a magnetometer. For full 9-DoF orientation sensing, pair it with an LIS3MDL 3-axis magnetometer (sold separately). STEMMA QT cable not included.
