16x24 Red LED Matrix Panel - Chainable HT1632C Driver

Discontinued

A 16×24 red LED matrix panel built from six 8×8 matrix modules, driven by an on-board HT1632C controller chip. The chip handles all the multiplexing, so you only need 3 digital pins on your microcontroller to control 384 LEDs via a simple SPI-like serial interface.

Designed to be chainable — connect up to 8 panels together for an extra-long scrolling display. The Arduino library handles chained panels intelligently, treating them as one continuous matrix with built-in functions for drawing pixels, lines, rectangles, circles, and text.

Key Features

  • 16×24 LED Matrix – 384 red LEDs across six 8×8 modules
  • HT1632C Driver – On-board controller handles all multiplexing
  • 3-Pin Serial Interface – SPI-like communication using only 3 digital output pins
  • Chainable – Connect up to 8 panels for longer displays
  • Global Brightness Control – Adjust brightness of the entire display
  • 1 Hz Blink Mode – Built-in hardware blink for the whole display
  • Fully Assembled – Ready to connect and use

Ideal For

  • Scrolling text displays and signage
  • Data visualisation and status dashboards
  • Arduino and microcontroller display projects
  • Multi-panel chainable display installations

Package Contents

  • 1× 16×24 Red LED Matrix Panel (fully assembled)
  • 1× 10-pin IDC cable
Note: Individual LED brightness (grayscale) is not supported — LEDs can only be set on or off. A microcontroller (such as Arduino) is required to drive the display. When chaining 3 or more panels, additional IDC cables are required.
