Sharp GP2Y0D805Z0F Digital Distance Sensor with Pololu Carrier [0.5 cm to 5 cm]

The Sharp GP2Y0D805Z0F is a compact digital distance sensor that detects objects between 0.5 cm and 5 cm away. Mounted on a Pololu carrier board with all required external components, it provides a simple digital output — high when an object is detected within range, low when clear.

With a fast ~400 Hz sample rate, low current draw, and short minimum sensing distance, this sensor is well suited for close-proximity object detection. Note that it reports presence only (object detected or not) — it does not measure distance. There are a few millimetres of hysteresis around the maximum range threshold and no hysteresis at the minimum range.
