The W25Q80BV is a 1 MB (8 Mbit) SPI flash memory chip in a DIP-8 package. It provides non-volatile storage for microcontroller projects — ideal for data logging, storing configuration, fonts, images, or audio samples where an SD card would be overkill.
Communication is via standard SPI, making it compatible with virtually any microcontroller. The chip operates at 3.3 V, so a logic level shifter is required when using 5 V boards such as the Arduino Uno.
