Its miniature optical design allows installation in tight spaces where traditional float switches won't fit.\n\nAn infrared LED and phototransistor are precisely positioned at the base of the sensing tip to maintain good optical coupling in air. When the tip is immersed in liquid, infrared light escapes from the cone, changing the light reaching the phototransistor and triggering an output state change.
