## Description

Control higher-power loads from a microcontroller over I2C with this Qwiic relay board. It is built around the Omron G6K-2F-Y DC3 dual-pole/dual-throw relay, letting a low-voltage logic system switch loads up to 1A at 30VDC or 0.3A at 125VAC at 40°C.The board offers both software and hardware control options. You can drive the relay through the on-board TCA9555 GPIO expander over I2C, or trigger it from an external input such as a physical switch or standard I/O signal. Two Qwiic connectors make it easy to add the relay to a Qwiic I2C daisy chain without soldering. The primary COM pole is available on a 3-pin screw terminal, while the secondary COM2 pole is broken out to standard 0.1-inch-spaced plated-through holes for soldered wiring or breadboard prototyping.Features:I2C Drive: Controlled via the on-board TCA9555 GPIO expander, requiring a drive current of 5.8mA at 3.3V.External Drive: Can be triggered by an external input, such as a physical switch or a standard I/O signal up to 50mA.Solderless Qwiic Integration: Two on-board Qwiic connectors allow connection to an I2C daisy chain without soldering.Dual-Circuit Control: Switches two completely independent circuits simultaneously with a single command.Signal Optimized: Engineered for lower-power signal-level switching up to 1A at 30VDC.Advanced Drive: Allows external devices to drive the relay control directly without using I2C.Specifications:Relay: G6K-2F-Y DC3 DPDT RelayLoad Limits: 1A/30VDC and 0.3A/125VACI2C Drive Current: 5.8mAExternal Drive Current: 50mARelay Connections: COM Pole and COM2 PoleCOM Pole: 3-Pin Screw TerminalCOM2 Pole: 0.1"-spaced PTHI2C GPIO Expander: TCA9555RTWR I2C GPIO ExpanderI2C Address: 0x20 (Default), 0x21 (Alternate)Qwiic Connectors: 2x Qwiic ConnectorsLEDs: Red power (PWR) LED, green status (STAT) LED, and green relay activity (ACT) LEDRed power LED: Red power (PWR) LEDGreen status LED: Green status (STAT) LEDGreen relay activity LED: Green relay activity (ACT) LEDUseful for maker and embedded projects that need isolated switching from a Qwiic-compatible controller, with support available through the SparkFun I2C Expander Arduino Library and related design files.
