The SparkFun PIR Breakout Starter Kit includes everything needed to get started with passive infrared motion detection. Built around the Panasonic EKMB1107112 PIR sensor, this kit's breakout board offers ultra-low 1µA standby current, making it ideal for battery-powered motion-sensing applications. The PIR sensor monitors infrared light across 32 detection zones with a 5-metre range and 90° × 90° detection area. It outputs a digital signal when motion is detected — no distance data, just reliable motion triggering. The kit includes a SparkFun RedBoard Qwiic, breadboard, jumper wires, and USB cable to get you prototyping immediately.
