## Description

Move an awkward card slot to somewhere easier to reach with this flexible SD to microSD extender. It gives you a long cable with a pseudo-card on one end and an SD card socket on the other, so you can plug into the host device and mount the socket wherever it is more convenient.It is a handy hack for tight builds and hard-to-access card slots in 3D printers, single-board computers, data-logging kits and similar projects. It can also help reduce wear and tear on the original socket by letting you access the card externally.The socket is push-push: insert the card to lock it in place, then press it again to release. A small pictogram on the socket shows the correct card orientation.Adafruit tested this with a Replicator 3D printer and a Raspberry Pi Linux computer and found it speedy and error-free, but it is still a hack. High-speed or electrically noisy environments may not work reliably, and systems that rely on mechanical card insertion for mount/unmount detection may be confused if the card is electrically removed without the host seeing a mechanical removal.Specifications:Cable Length: 23cm / ~9"Best suited to systems where you can force a mount/unmount in software, or where the card is only changed while the device is rebooted or powered down.
