An RS-485 communication shield for the Raspberry Pi from LinkSprite. This pre-assembled shield adds an RS-485 field bus interface to the Pi, supporting up to 32 devices on a single data line over cable lengths up to 1,200 m (4,000 ft) at data rates up to 10 Mbit/s. Based on the MAX481CSA transceiver IC.
The shield includes screw terminals for quick wiring and an unpopulated DB9 connector footprint for optional panel-mount connections. Simply plug the shield onto the Raspberry Pi GPIO header — no soldering required.
