RedBearLab BLE Nano Kit - nRF51822

Discontinued

The BLE Nano from RedBearLab is the smallest Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy (BLE) development board on the market, measuring just 18.5mm × 21.0mm. At its core is a Nordic nRF51822 ARM Cortex-M0 System on Chip (SoC) with an integrated 2.4GHz transceiver, capable of running at 16MHz with ultra-low power consumption.

This kit includes the MK20 DAPLink USB board for easy firmware deployment. The DAPLink board accepts 5V from USB and regulates it to 3.3V via an onboard LDO to power the BLE Nano. When connected to your computer, it appears as both a serial port and a removable mass storage disk.

Key Features

  • Ultra-Compact – Only 18.5mm × 21.0mm, the smallest BLE development board available
  • Nordic nRF51822 SoC – ARM Cortex-M0 supporting both BLE Central and Peripheral roles
  • 2.4GHz Transceiver – Integrated radio with ultra-low power consumption
  • Flexible Voltage – Operates from 1.8V to 3.3V; VIN pin accepts 3.3V to 13V (regulated to 3.3V)
  • DAPLink USB Board – Drag-and-drop firmware deployment, serial port access, and mass storage interface
  • 1.8V Mode – Short switch S on the USB board to output 1.8V instead of 3.3V for low-voltage components
  • Multiple Development Environments – Supports mbed.org, GCC, Keil, and Arduino
  • Cross-Platform Compatibility – Works with iOS 7+, Android 4.3+, and Windows Phone 8.1
