{"title":"MC Etcher Diamond Drag Bit Combo Pack","handle":"mc-etcher-diamond-drag-bit-combo-pack","url":"/products/mc-etcher-diamond-drag-bit-combo-pack","description":"Designed for CNC drag engraving, MC Etcher uses a diamond-coated, spring-loaded tip to etch fine lines into the surface of your material. It is suited to composites, metals and glass, creating an engraved pattern by dragging rather than cutting with flutes like a standard endmill.Important: drag engravers are not meant to rotate, so your spindle needs to be turned off when using MC Etcher. Toolpaths can be generated with Carbide Create, Carbide Create Pro, or another 2D CAM package by using suitable contour, pocket, outline or fill operations with the RPM set to zero.The 90-degree tip is better for penetration in very hard or anodised materials, while the 120-degree tip produces slightly wider lines in softer materials such as fibreboard. It ships in a reusable storage tube.Features:Diamond-coated, spring-loaded tip drags over the surface to create an etched or engraved pattern.Designed for fine line engraving on composites, metals and glass.Does not cut with flutes like a normal endmill.Reusable storage tube included.90-degree tip: Better penetration in very hard or anodised materials.120 deg tip: Provides slightly wider lines in softer materials such as fibreboard, but has less penetration in harder materials.Toolpath option: Use Carbide Create, or any other 2D CAM program, to generate contour toolpaths and pocket toolpaths with an RPM of zero, or leave your spindle turned off.Toolpath option: Use the Engrave toolpath in Carbide Create Pro to generate outline and fill toolpaths for drag engraving.Plastics: Works with materials like acrylic, plexiglass and polycarbonate.Metals: Works with materials like aluminium, brass or stainless steel.Ceramics: Works with glass, porcelain and ceramics.Stone tile: Works with materials like granite and marble.Specifications:Shank: 1/4\"Feedrate: 60 in/minPlungerate: 30 in/minCut Depth / Compression: .015\"Tool life will vary with the material being engraved. For harder materials such as glass and stone, test the minimum toolpath density or maximum stepover that achieves the finish you want.","vendor":"SparkFun","product_type":"CNC Engraving Bit","in_stock":true,"options":[],"variants":[{"id":16248,"title":"Default Title","sku":"SF-TOL-19763","mpn":"TOL-19763","price":172.1,"on_sale":false,"in_stock":true,"available_quantity":99999999}]}
