The Gravity VEML7700 is a high-accuracy digital ambient light sensor that outputs readings directly in lux (lx) over an I²C interface. Built around the Vishay VEML7700 IC, it features a 16-bit ADC, a high-sensitivity photodiode, and a low-noise amplifier — delivering precise light measurements without the need for manual voltage-to-lux calculations. With a measurement range of 0–120,000 lx and a resolution of 0.0036 lx/ct, this sensor significantly outperforms basic photoresistors and the older BH1750 (limited to 65,000 lx). The Gravity I²C connector makes wiring straightforward with compatible DFRobot controllers and Arduino boards.
