## Description

The MSGEQ7 is a CMOS graphic equaliser IC that divides the audio spectrum into seven frequency bands: 63 Hz, 160 Hz, 400 Hz, 1 kHz, 2.5 kHz, 6.25 kHz, and 16 kHz. Each band is peak-detected and multiplexed to provide a DC output representing the amplitude — ideal for driving LED audio visualisers and spectrum analysers. Requires only two external components (one resistor and one capacitor) to set the on-chip clock oscillator. The multiplexer is controlled via reset and strobe pins, allowing readout with just two I/O pins from your microcontroller.
