It adds a specialised three-screw flange at the base so the antenna can be permanently installed while still connecting via any SMA cable.The locking flange is useful in high-vibration applications such as UAVs, autonomous agricultural rovers and automotive equipment, where a standard threaded SMA connection may loosen over time. The extra mounting points help secure the antenna to the enclosure and reduce stress on the SMA connector.Internally, the antenna uses a Quadrifilar Helix structure for strong gain and wide-angle circular polarisation, helping with reception from low-elevation satellites even when the antenna is tilted or manoeuvring.
