{"title":"Conductive Rubber Cord Stretch Sensor Kit - 3m","handle":"conductive-rubber-cord-stretch-sensor-extras-3m-long","url":"/products/conductive-rubber-cord-stretch-sensor-extras-3m-long","description":"Measuring stretch and movement can be tricky, and this conductive rubber cord gives you a simple, hands-on way to do it. The cord is made from carbon-black impregnated rubber, with resistance that increases as it is pulled longer.In its relaxed state the cord is around 350 ohms per inch, and as it stretches the conductive particles move further apart, increasing resistance. It is useful for detecting stretching motion, but it is not a true linear sensor and resistance can vary from batch to batch, so it is best treated as an experimental motion sensor rather than a precision measuring device.This kit includes a full three metres of cord, two alligator clips for connecting to the cord, and a 10K resistor. Together, these parts can be used to make a simple voltage divider, then read the analogue voltage with a microcontroller and convert it back to resistance using a thermistor-style measurement approach.Specifications:Length: approximately 3 meters = 118 inchesDiameter: 2mmResistance: 350-400 ohms per inch / 140 - 160 ohms per centimeterGreat for experiments in wearables, soft interfaces, motion sensing and interactive projects where you want a stretchy resistive element.","vendor":"Adafruit","product_type":"Stretch Sensor","in_stock":true,"options":[],"variants":[{"id":16332,"title":"Default Title","sku":"AF-6379","mpn":"ADA6379","price":49.05,"on_sale":false,"in_stock":true,"available_quantity":59}]}
