Each strand has 20 cafe-style bulbs, and each bulb is individually addressable so you can create rainbows, chases, fades and other effects using a NeoPixel/WS2812 controller.The strand runs from 12VDC rather than 5V, which helps over the longer wiring between bulbs. You will need a suitable 12V power supply as well as a NeoPixel/WS2812 controller, and the data input expects a 5V logic signal. If you are driving it from a 3.3V microcontroller without a built-in level shifter, use a suitable pixel level shifter.Each bulb includes a small hook for hanging from a wire, fence or similar support.
