## Description

This breakout uses Vishay's TSSP77038 infrared demodulator to give you the raw demodulated output from a 38kHz IR signal, without the extra filtering used in typical remote-control receivers. That makes it a handy choice for reflective sensing, light barriers, fast proximity detection, and modulated IR break-beam projects.Because it responds to modulated IR rather than a constant IR source, it is less affected by ambient light changes and other stray IR sources than a simple phototransistor setup. It's a good fit when you want a less 'intelligent' IR receiver for custom sensing projects, or when you need a simpler alternative to a more integrated proximity sensor.The board comes fully assembled and tested, with mounting holes to make installation in enclosures or on devices easier. For solder-free use, it works with a 2mm pitch 3-pin STEMMA JST PH cable connected to headers or alligator clips. If you prefer to solder, there is also a 0.1" spaced header for power, ground, and signal. Please note that no cable is included.It can detect 38kHz IR remote-control signals, but since there is no built-in code filtering you should expect more spurious signals in that sort of application.
