It follows on from Bosch’s BMP2xx and BMP3xx sensors and can be used over either I2C or SPI.Use I2C for simple wiring, or SPI when you want to connect multiple sensors without worrying about I2C address collisions. The BMP580 is software/firmware compatible with the BMP581, but with less accurate/precision measurements and a lower cost.Adafruit has mounted the surface-mount sensor on a custom PCB in the STEMMA QT form factor. STEMMA QT connectors on both sides are compatible with SparkFun Qwiic I2C connectors, making it easy to make solderless connections or chain it with compatible sensors and accessories. A QT cable is not included.This sensor suits drones and quadcopters for altitude stability, as well as wearables and projects that track height above sea level.
