Arduino Advent Calendar Day 12 - Going Mobile with a Battery!

Today we've received from the Arduino Advent Gods a rather humble part. The part in question is a 9 Volt Battery Snap with a Barrel Jack Adaptor on the end (suitable for our Arduino).

While it looks kinda dull, it gives our Arduino a life away from our computers!

In today's guide, we're going to put our Arduino in a place where you might not be able to place your computer, and that is the fridge!

Using the temperature sensor provided on day four, we're going to measure the minimum temperature of your fridge. We'll leave the Arduino in the refrigerator (powered by our battery snap and battery) and afterwards take our Arduino back to our computer and read of the minimum and maximum temperatures recorded.

We'll trigger our Arduino to read back the temperature over the serial port by pushing a button (the same one that was supplied on day five).

Enough talking about it let's go and build up the circuit over at guides.littlebird.com.au .
