The Arduino Robot is the first official Arduino on wheels — a fully programmable, open-source robot platform with two independent processor boards. The Motor Board controls the motors while the Control Board reads sensors and handles decision-making, giving you complete control over robot behaviour.
Both boards are based on the ATmega32u4 microcontroller with built-in USB communication, so programming works just like the Arduino Leonardo — plug in via USB and upload your sketches directly from the Arduino IDE.
Key Features
- Dual Processor Architecture – Separate Motor Board and Control Board, each a full Arduino board
- ATmega32u4 Microcontroller – Built-in USB (CDC serial) on both boards, no secondary processor needed
- On-Board Sensors and Actuators – Many pins mapped to built-in components for immediate use
- Arduino IDE Compatible – Program both boards using the standard Arduino development environment
- Open-Source Design – Hardware, software, and documentation all freely available
Ideal For
- Learning robotics and programming
- STEM education and classroom activities
- Building custom autonomous robots
- Exploring sensor-driven navigation
